AT&T iPhone 3G Speed test in Boulder, Co
Doing some informal 3G speed testing of my iPhone 3G here in the republic of Boulder. I positioned myself under the main cellphone antenna array in the center of downtown boulder. This should ensure me the best signal and 3G speed in the whole of city. I ran a little online speed test and here are my results. Resultant speeds were 250kbps and 259kbps. And the purpose of 3G is ???!!!!!
iPhone 2.0 Software Bricks Phone - boo hooo! - iTunes Activation Problem

Iphone 3G - New Iphone July 11th
The new Iphone is here, not really new more of an evolution than revolution. In the bottom line department the new iPhone is gonna be 1/2 the cost just $199 compared to the $400 I paid for the 8 gig model, ouch (the price of early adoption). The data rate when you're not on wifi is now 3G as apposed to slow 56k pokey Edge so 1700kbps vs the 200kbos of edge. GPS is now built in also a nice feature.
Cheap Computer Speakers - Logitech X-230
I bought a pair of Logitech X-240 computer speakers at a yard sale some time ago. They sit mainly unused in my living room but when I have on occasion hooked em' up to my laptop I am left smiling. Good bass and nice mid/highs too. For $40 or so I think you can't go wrong, big sound for little moolah. Below is a link to buy them on Amazon. The model below is newer than my pair, has a nice dock that you can attach your mp3 player or ipod to (if you have an ipod :)
Get video shot with Casio Exilim camera to work in iMovie 08
A friend got this camera to take to India and shoot video. We ran into a show stopper on the Mac using iMovie 08. Video shot with this camera will not work (you can't import it / grayed out) when using iMovie 08. The problem relates to the sound. You'll have to convert each movie you shoot first and then import it to iMoive 08. I used Quick Time Pro to convert each movie.
See my post on apple discussions for ways to fix the problem -- http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5849543
Come on Casio!
My impressions of Apple iPhone - a mini review
I like to start off by saying that I don't yet own an iPhone but I'd like to post my impressions of it here from the 30 minutes of intimate time we spent together at my local Apple Store here in Boulder on Friday 29th of June 2007. The photos to the left were take with an iPhone at the Apple Store (modified with ImageWell).
