Just saw this piece on ABC news about tire expiration dates. Those who know me have always heard my mantra about buying a good quality tire, after all it’s the only thing that’s between your car and the road. According to this piece on ABC news, the rubber compound in tires dries out over time and becomes brittle after 6 years or so. This can lead to blowouts, nasty rollovers and to the premature pushing up of the the old daisies!

The new Iphone is here, not really new more of an evolution than revolution. In the bottom line department the new iPhone is gonna be 1/2 the cost just $199 compared to the $400 I paid for the 8 gig model, ouch (the price of early adoption). The data rate when you’re not on wifi is now 3G as apposed to slow 56k pokey Edge so 1700kbps vs the 200kbos of edge. GPS is now built in also a nice feature.

I was chatting to a musician buddy of mine the other day and he mentioned a jazz trio he saw this year called the Esbjörn Svensson Trio, they also go by the name of E.S.T. Google them when I got home and I was blow away. These blokes are rekindling my past love of Jazz. The Yellow Jackets’ new stuff sounds too “Smooth Jazz” like for me. EST rocks….
I was informed today, Nov 8th, that my 2007 Naked Pumpkin Run Video has been pulled from YouTube. I logged onto my account and sure enough I saw the words “Rejected (content inappropriate)” next to it!
YouTube you suck, no really, It’s OK to publish wanton acts of Violence, rip long scenes from bootlegged DVDs and issue a message to the world before you go and shoot your mates in the school yard but nudity, well have none of that!

Ladies and Germs, I give the the Hyundai Atos “a city car” my mom just bought. This is what R69000 ($10000) gets you in sunny South Africa. No Airbags, no ABS and stability control, forget it! I I inquired about the Euro Ncap saftey rating and my mom just laughed at me – South African’s don’t need none of those safety nannies!! My mom added that she’s been driving on some of the most dangerous roads in the world for the past 30 years in an old BMW320i sans airbags and ABS! Yeah, BooYah! BooooooYahhhh go South Africa!
Below are my perosnal notes on a Canyoneering trip I took to the Escalante region in southern Utah during the Memorial day weekend 2007. We normally takes a jaunt down to the slot canyons in southern Utah in the Spring and Fall each year. On this trip I was sans my biatch Dan so I rode with AJ. We left Boulder at about 4pm getting there at around 1.30am.
